Government proposes Rp 1.6t for energy security, petroleum reserves

The government has allocated Rp 1.6 trillion for energy security fund and strategic petroleum reserves in the proposed revision of the 2016 state budget, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Monday.
The paper quoted Minister of Finance Bambang Brojonegoro as saying about Rp 0.8 trillion will be allocated for energy security fund, and the balance for strategic petroleum reserves.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said proposed the importance of energy security fund last month during a meeting with lawmakers, to be used among others to help finance the development of renewable energy sources in the country. (*)
