The state non-tax revenue (better known here as PNBP) from the mining sector has exceeded the target set in the 2017 state budget, thanks to rising trend in the price of coal.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said in a statement obtained on Monday that the PNBP as per November 17 has reached Rp 35 trillion, or seven percent higher than the Rp 32.4 trillion target set in the 2017 state budget.

The ministry said that the strong revenue was attributed to the rise in the price of coal, improved supervision, and compliance by miners to pay their financial obligations to the state. Revenue from coal accounts for about 80 percent of the PNBP.

The statement said that the PNBP revenue comprised of revenue from royalty worth Rp 19.8 trillion (56.6%), sales of mining commodities Rp 14.7 trillion (42%), and dead rent fee Rp 500 billion (1.4%).

The statement also said that the realized revenue is higher than the full-year revenue of Rp 27.1 trillion last year, and Rp 23.8 trillion in 2015.
