In a bid to help improve fuel supply in the eastern part of Indonesia, the government plans to develop 25 units of fuel oil depot in the region, said Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said.
Sudirman said in a statement last week that the fuel depots would also help lower fuel prices in the region, which currently stand at Rp 15,000 ? Rp 30,000 per liter.
?We?ll continue to build (fuel) storages in remote regions in eastern part of Indonesia,? Sudirman said, adding that the region has become the government?s priority for infrastructure development as it has been lagging behind compared to other regions in the country, causing fuel prices to be relatively higher of up to Rp 30,000 per liter in Papua.
