Government to carry on Tanjung Adikarto port in Kulon Progo

The Special Regional Government of Jogjakarta will continue the development of Tanjung Adikarto Port in Kulon Progo Regency by changing the technical design of the port.
The port development has been earlier halted due to intrusion of sea sand.
"There has to be a changing of design so that the sea sand will not flow in (to the port)," Governor of Special Region of Jogjakarta Governor Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwana X was quoted by state owned news agency Antara.
The governor said the Adikarto port development is being studied by the Finance Ministry.
The continuation of the project development will determined by the end of this year, he added.
The government has spent Rp450 billion to develop the port, however some facilities have been damaged. Therefore, the governor hopes the port development can be continued.
The port is expected to support the newly developed international airport, which is also located in Kulon Progro regency. (*)
