Government to set up eight new SEZs this year

The government has set a target to set up eight new special economic zones (SEZs) this year in a bid to help accelerate investment activities.

News portal kontan.co.id quoted Hiramsyah S. Thaib, Head of Team for the Development Acceleration of 10 New Bali, as saying Wednesdy that three locations have been proposed to become new SEZs.

He said that the three locations are Tanjung Gunung, Sungai Liat, and Singosari.  He expected President Joko Widodo to approve in the third quarter of this year the three locations to become new SEZs. (*)
