Governors to submit results of IUP evaluation to MEMR

The paper quoted ministry spokesman Sujatmiko as saying that the results of the evaluation will come in two categories: IUPs which have met the so-called clean and clear (C&C) criteria, and IUPs which have failed to meet the C&C criteria either because the miners have failed to pay financial obligations to the state properly or their concessions are overlapping with concessions of other firms or with forest areas.
He said that those failing to meet the C&C criteria will be recommended by the ministry for the governors to revoke the permits. He added this mechanism has been stipulated under Ministerial Regulation No 43/2015.
Sujatmiko said that miners unsatisfied with the decision are allowed to file lawsuit with the State Administrative Court (PTUN). (*)
