Govt allocates 48.2 mmscfd for transportation this year

The government has guaranteed the availability of gas totaling 48.2 mmscd for transportation this year to support the program of oil fuel-to-gas conversion.

The statement was made by Head of Oil and Gas Transportation Sub-directorate at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Isnaini said in a seminar on Wednesday, the ministry said in a statement.

Of the 48.2 mmscfd supplies, 31.5 mmscfd will be available in Jakarta, Banten and West Java, 12.2 mmscfd in East Java and 1 mmscfd in each of South Sumatra, East Kalimantan, Central Java and Riau, Isnaini said.

Next year, the supply will be increased to 56.7 mmscfd with quota for Jakarta, Banten and West Java increasing to 40 mmscfd. Quotas for other regions will remain unchanged.

As part of the oil fuel-to-gas conversion program, the government and state owned companies will build natural gas stations (SPBG) and Mobile Refuelling Unit (MRU). For this year, the government will build 10 SPBGs and 2 MRUs in the Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) area. Besides, three SPBGs will be built in Semarang, the capital of Central Java, a mini LNG plant and LCNG stations in West Java and 2 SPBGs in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan.

Meanwhile, state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina will build 12 SPBGs, four MRUs, 11 LGV SPBGs in Jabodetabek, three LGV SPBGs in Bali, while state owned gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) will build 10 SPBGs and three MRUs in Jabodetabek, two SPBGs in East Java and two SPBGs in Riau.
