The ministry of energy and mineral resources along with the Indonesian Lube Producers Association (Aspelindo) would set up a join team to examine all the lubricant products sold domestically, the association said on Tuesday.
Association head AP Batubara said the joint team would examine if the quality of the lubricant products meet the standards set by the government.
"If the quality of the products fail to meet the standards, permits for the sale of the products will be revoked," Batubara told Petromindo .Com and Business Indonesia daily following a meeting with Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro.
Batubara suspected many lubricant distributors had obtained permits from the ministry to sell their products despite their poor quality. They obtained the permits due to collusive, corrupt and nepotistic practices. (Godang)
