Govt announces one winner of oil and gas block tender

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Jero Wacik has announced the winner of the MNK Kisaran non-conventional oil and gas block in North Sumatra.

The winner is the consortium of Pacific Oil & Gas (Kisaran) Ltd., Bukit Energy Central Sumatera Pte. Ltd., and New Zealand Oil & Gas Limited. Their firm commitment for G&G Study, Seismic 2D Reprocessing (500 km), and one exploration well (vertical), total US$11,565,000. The consortium also provides the government with $ 1,000,000 in signature bonus, according to the ministerial decree issued on June 12, 2014.

The block is part of the oil and gas non-conventional blocks offered by the government in 2013 through direct proposal mechanism. The other block, MNK West Tanjung block, hasn?t get tender winner.

The ministry also announced there are no winners of the regular tender of three coal bed methane (CBM) blocks. The three blocks are Air Ogan I block, Air Ogan II block, and Melak Mendung II.
