Govt awards bonded logistics hub status to Petrosea port

IDX-listed mining service firm PT Petrosea Tbk announced on Friday that the government has awarded a Bonded Logistics Hub (PLB) to the Petrosea Offshore Supply Base (POSB) in Tanjung Batu, Balikpapan, East Kalimantan province.
The PLB status was awarded on March 8, 2016, making it the first in Indonesia operate such facilities, the firm said.
The firm said in its website that POSB takes a multi-user, multi-functional and integrated approach to the operation of the supply base business and has established relationships with large oil & gas and mining companies which are a testament to our abilities to offer a diverse range of services, cost effectively and on-time.
The wharf facility can boast a jetty with a 195-metre and a 9 -meter draft, coupled with extensive craneage and materials handling capacity, this facility is able to receive large individual shipments, as well as large volume bulk materials deliveries. Extensive hard stand storage areas (over 150,000 square meters) as well as undercover storage areas allow our clients to have cost-effective storage solutions for their assets and equipment.
POSB has undertaken to have its entire operational staff certified to relevant Australian standards in 2007 and has a dedicated oil spill contingency facility to ensure the object of delivering quality to our clients is met and maintained.
POSB is specifically designed to provide solutions for the offshore oil and gas majors with:
- Three Quays with deep water facility, and RORO landing berth, operated with high quality electronic traffic control systems
- Storages: Open yards, Undercover, Specific fluids storage facility
- Excellent Marshaling area, and equipment handling
- Treatment facilities and pollution control facilities to International standards
- Workshops and tool supports.
- Excellent support facilities including office, accommodation, canteen, clinics, helipads, speed boats and high security
