Govt awards two more CBM blocks

Government will directly award two coal-bed methane working areas in South Sumatra two consortia of contractors including state oil and gas company PT Pertamina.

Director General of Oil and Gas Evita Legowo said that the Muara Enim CBM block will be awarded to Pertamina-Trisula CBM Energy and Batang Asin block to Bumi Perkasa Energi-Glory Wealth Ltd.

The blocks are awarded under the old rules that did not require government to tender a CBM block, she said.

Contract signing will be held on November 30, 2009, she said. (godang)
