Govt delays oil and gas blocks tender to August

The government has delayed the deadline for investors to submit bidding documents for 25 oil and gas blocks across the country until the end of August as it had added the number of blocks offered to investors.
Teguh Pamudi, Secretary to the Directorate General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, said on Wednesday that investors were given until the end of August to pick up the bidding documents. The government will also open the bidding documents in the end of August.
Of the 25 blocks offered in the tender, 11 blocks are auctioned through regular tender mechanism, 14 through direct appointment mechanism.
Initially, the government only offered 21 blocks and required investors to pick up the bidding documents on July 16, 2007.
Teguh refused to name the four blocks that had been added to the list of blocks offered in the tender. (Godang)
