In cooperation with the tin mining companies PT Timah Tbk and PT Koba Tin, the government has established a consortium , which will later procure all the lead from the unconventional miners, the Investor Daily Indonesia newspaper reported in its Saturday edition.

This will be done to minimize the negative impacts from the unconventional mining practice like environmental destruction and damage done to the national lead market order.

From the government side, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the administrations of province and Bangka regency will participate in the consortium

Through this consortium, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro said unconventional miners will perform their activities in conformity with the laws.

?Therefore later, the unconventional miners finally will pay taxes and we can increase the revenue to the state coffers. Later this will create many job opportunities,? Purnomo said while asking the PT Timah to actively regulate its production in order to prevent the fall of tin prices.(*)
