Govt extends exploration blocks tender bid submission deadline

Department of Energy and Mineral Resources extends bid submission deadline for Direct Offer exploration bidding round by another three weeks to Feb 20, 2009.

The Ministry?s website said on Wednesday that the delay was necessary to give time to determine the imposition of income tax on PSC contractors.

Meanwhile, the website also said that the government will offer 20 exploration blocks in June, most of which are located in deep water in eastern part of Indonesia. The blocks would be offered through Direct Offer scheme. (denny)
