Govt grants "clean and clear? status to 235 IUP holders

The government has granted ?clean and clear" status to 235 mining business permits of both coal and mineral mining companies that have no overlapping areas with any other mining permit holder.

Director General of Mineral and Coal at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Thamrin Sihite announced the the names of companies with clear and status on May 10.

It is the third announcement made by the government so far.

The first announcement was made in July 2011 awarding the clear and clean status to 1,509 IUP holders. The second came in February 28 with 373 companies were declared clear and clean status.

The government has made the clean and clear status as one of requirements to allow the miners to export mineral ores before 2014.
