President of state oil and gas company Baihaki Hakim said the government has yet to approve the restructuring of the state company's organization.

Baihaki told Petromindo. Com on Friday that Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro had sent the proposal for the new organization structure of Pertamina to President Abdurrahman Wahid for approval.

"The draft for the new organization structure has been sent to Cabinet Secretary Marsillam Simanjuntak. I myself have made a presentation on the new organization structure to Marsillam. Hopefully, the government will issue a presidential decree on the new structure and personnel in December," he said.

A source earlier said Abdurrahman had signed a decree on the new structure of Pertamina last week prior to his departure to attend the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit in Singapore.

Under the new structure, Pertamina's board of directors consists of one president and five directors. Today, Pertamina has one president and six directors. (Godang/Epin/Alex)
