Govt, House to complete revision of oil, gas, mining laws end 2016

The government and the House of Representatives have finally agreed to quickly complete the revision of Law No 22/2001 on Oil and Gas, and Law No 4/2009 on Mining in December of this year.
This was said by interim Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Luhut Panjaitan in a statement issued on Thursday.
?The government and the House of Representatives have agreed to complete the revision of the Mining Law and Oil and Gas Law this year. This is the initiative of the House and has been included in the National Legislation Program,? Luhut said.
He added that the revision of the two laws is crucial to help improve the investment climate in the two sectors.
He cited as an example that the government wants to speed up the development of domestic smelters.
