Govt, House to deliberate oil and gas bill soon

The government and the House of Representatives will start deliberating the oil and gas bill on Jan. 29 this year, a senior official of the ministry of energy and mineral resources said on Thursday.
"Now, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro has made preparations for the deliberation of the bill. We submitted the bill to the House long time ago and I have been informed that there will be first talks on Jan. 29," director general of oil and gas Rachmat Sudibyo told Petromindo. Com.
The ministry submitted the bill on Sept. 29, 2000. The bill aims among others at stripping state oil and gas company Pertamina of its decades-long monopoly rights, on Sept. 29, 2000. (godang/epin).
