Govt imposes extra import duty on metal casing, tubing

Minister of Finance (MoF) has issued Regulation No 108/PMK.011/2013, which imposes an extra import duty for metal or steel casing and tubing products.

According to copy of the regulation obtained Thursday, the so-called protection measure import duty will be applied on the import of casing and tubing products with diameter of between 2 3/8-14 inches, and yield strength of more than 75,000 psi.

The additional import duty will be valid for four years with tariff declining from Rp 28,439 per kg in the first year to Rp 28,001 per kg in the second, Rp 27,564 in the third year, and Rp 27, 126 per kg in the final fourth year.
