Govt issues presidential decree on new structure of Pertamina

The government has restructured state oil and gas company Pertamina's organization through a presidential decree issued last week.
A source at Pertamina said that under the decree, Pertamina will have one president and five directors, who respectively supervises upstream sector, downstream sector, human resources affairs, financial affairs and oil and gas contractors.
Today, Pertamina has six directors including exploration and production director, processing director, domestic fuel provision director, shipping and port director, general affairs director and financial director and head of the foreign contractors management body (BPPKA), who has a director-level position.
The source said the processing directorate will be merged with fuel provision directorate into one office supervising downstream business of Pertamina, while shipping and port directorate will developed into a strategic business unit.
The source did not specify when the presidential decree was issued.
Pertamina's processing director Ariffi Nawawi confirmed the issuance of the presidential decree.
According to the source, the decree will be followed by another presidential decree naming the head of each directorates.
Rumors at Pertamina and the House of Representatives have it that current director of exploration and production Gatot K. Wiroyudo will be maintained as director for upstream sector, while Ariffi Nawawi will head the merger of processing directorate and fuel provision directorate. Current director of fuel provision Harry Purnomo is reportedly intensively approaching Cabinet Secretary Marsillam Simandjuntak that he could remain in the board of directors.
Ainun Naim is most likely to maintain its current position as financial director, while
BPPKA top seat will go to either acting BPPK head Trijana or exploration head of Pertamina's
directorate of exploration of production directorate Chollidry Remington, according to the rumors.
