Govt keeps prices of subsidized fuels unchanged

The government has decided to keep the prices of subsidized fuels unchanged despite the surge in crude oil prices in the world market during the past two months.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said in a statement on Monday that considering the relatively stable fluctuation of the rupiah, and the condition of the country?s economy, the government decided to retain the prices of subsidized fuels at the current levels despite the recent surge in the prices of crude oil in the international market.

Beginning April 15, the retail prices of Premium gasoline and diesel for transportation and small-scale companies would remain at Rp 4,500 per liter each. The price of kerosene for households, small-scale companies and fishery would be maintained at Rp 2,500 per liter, the ministry said. (godang)
