Govt launches new round of oil, gas tender

The government through The Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry is offering 24 new oil and gas blocks in the first round of 2009 tender.

Seventeen oil and gas blocks are offered in a regular tender. The blocks, which are mostly located in eastern Indonesia, include Tomini Bay I, II, III, IV, V, VI in Central Sulawesi and Bone Bay I, II and III in southern Sulawesi

Seven blocks are offered through direct offer mechanism. They are located among others in South Sumatra, including Northeast Ogan Komering, offshore West Java; Blora in Central Java and North Makassar.

Bidding documents for directly-offered blocks can be obtained from June 15 until July 29, 2009 and bids should be submitted by July 30, 2009, Evita Legowo, the Director General of Oil and Gas at the ministry, said Thursday.

Meanwhile, companies interested in the blocks offered in regular tender can get bidding documents from July 15, 2009 until October 12, 2009 and they have to submit their bids by October 13, 2009, she added. (Alex)
