Govt launches online services on forest permit for miners

Forestry Ministry has launched an online service on forestry borrow and use permits locally known as ?izin pinjam pakai? for mining sector that would allow miners to apply via internet.

"By using online service, we expect licensing process will be more transparent." Director of forest use at the ministry, Hudoyo told Petromindo.

The ministry issued a decree No.324/2012 on online services for forest borrow and use permit on July 3. The decree stipulates the online service would be eligible for mining company both in stage of exploration and production.

Hudoyo said that each applicant will be provided with a user-ID and password to access the service which would allow the miners to monitor the update of licensing process, including to complete any data required to process the application.

?With the online service, we hope to complete the application on forestry permit on time,? he said.
