Govt offers 23 oil and gas blocks

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has offered 23 oil and gas blocks through direct proposal and regular tender mechanisms in the country?s second 2012 petroleum bidding round launched on Tuesday.

According to the government document, access to bid document in the direct proposal tender mechanism will be opened from October 11-November 26, 2012, while in the regular tender mechanism from October 11, 2012-February 18, 2013.

Bid submission for blocks offered under the direct proposal mechanism must be made by November 27, 2012 at the latest, while bid submission under the regular tender on February 19, 2013.

The 23 oil and gas blocks offered in the second bidding round consist of 16 areas offered through the direct proposal mechanism, and 7 blocks offered through the regular tender.

5. Offshore North X-Ray
6. Sanggau
7. Menduwai
8. Kahayan
9. South Tanjung
10. West Bangkanai
11. North East Tanjung
12. North East Bangkanai
13. Offshore Mangkalihat
14. Central Mahakam
15. West Sebuku
16. West Misool

Blocks offered through the regular tender mechanism includes
1. West Asri
2. Bengara II
3. Masalima
4. North East Sepanjang
5. Seringapalam I
6. Seringapalam II
7. Wanapiri
