Govt offers 8 geothermal areas to be surveyed

Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources announced on Wednesday the offering of 8 geothermal area top be surveyed by interested investors.

The areas are: 1) Sungai Betung Jambi and West Sumatra, 2) Sungai Tenang in Jambi, 3) Ciseeng in West Java and Banten, 4) Malawa in South Sulawesi, 5) Gunung Dua Saudara in North Sulawesi, 6) Sembalun in West Nusa Tenggara, 7) Ulumbu in East Nusa Tenggara and 8) Mataloko in East Nusa Tenggara.

Under the current geothermal regulation, companies that are given right to conduct survey will be given first right to obtain license on the area.

The announcement did not give detail about application date line.
