Govt offers non-conventional blocks

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources announced on Friday the Phase I of 2014 non-conventional block tender, in which eight shale blocks are offered through regular and direct offer mechanisms

The eight blocks include two blocks offered by state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina.

Bid submission is set at June-July 2014 for direct proposal bidding and June-October 2014 for regular bidding.

Meanwhile, Director of Upstream Activities Supervision at the Directorate General of Oil and Gas Hendra Fadli told Petromindo.com that the oil and gas blocks offered by the ministry in the Phase 1 of 2014 Oil and Gas Block Tender seemed to be attractive enough for investors that big companies, such as BP, ConocoPhillips and ENI, have voiced interest in the blocks.
