The government has opened a tender for supply of 1.3 million liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) stoves this year, the Media Indonesia reported on Tuesday.

An amount of Rp 80 billion was allocated for the replacement of kerosene stoves with LPG stoves.

?Tender has been opened today (Monday). Hopefully, all the gas stoves will be ready by early December and they will be distributed to the users,? Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises Suryadharma Ali said in Jakarta on Monday.

The minister said all the bidders must submit their offers along with design, guarantee and a statement stating that the gas stoves will meet the national industrial standards. The bidders are also required to mention how much gas that the stoves will consume in one hour.

The bidders must work with small and medium scale businesses, who will become the partners in supplying the stoves, he said. (*)
