Govt orders Bayan mine to stop operations

Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has ordered temporary production halt to a mine owned by IDX-listed firm PT.Bayan Resources for failing to work according to the feasibility study, a ministry?s senior official said on Thursday.
Director of Coal and Mineral Enterprises Bambang Gatot Ariyono told Petromindo.Com that government will suspend operations of PT.Teguh Sinar Abadi (TSA) in West Kutai, East Kalimantan until after the company would comply with the FS.
Bambang went on to say that among the breaches TSA committed was working outside its boundary.
Bayan Resources official Hengky Wibowo did not return the call for confirmation.
According to Bayan?s recent report, TSA and its other subsidiary PT.Firman Ketaun Perkasa will produce 1 million tonnes in 2009. (godang)
