The government plans to carry out a major reshuffle at the top management of the state electricity company PLN with the current president Kuntoro Mangkusubroto might lose his job within the next few days, informed source said.

The source told Suara Pembaruan on Monday that the reshuffle in PLN's top management would be announced on Wednesday (Jan 10).

Kuntoro will be replaced by Eddy Widiono, the current marketing director of the company. But it is not clear yet about the composition of the executive board that will be led by Eddy.

Rumors on the reshuffle at the electricity company have come into surface since early December. Besides Eddy, several other names including Tunggono, the current director for operation, Rahardjo Muhara, the secretary of special team dealing with electricity issues, have been proposed to replace Kuntoro.

The source said that Coordinating Minister for the Economy Riazal Ramli had preferred Rahardjo to become PLN's new boss.

But Rizal's candidate faced opposition to sit at the helm of the electricity company's management due to his alleged involvement in the controversial export credit for the construction of a power transmission in Tasikmalaya. (*)
