The government is considering establishing an agency that will hold authority to decide on the prices of gas distributed in the country, the Directorate General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said in a statement on Tuesday.
The establishment of the ?gas aggregator? is considered necessary in view of the varied gas prices now applied in the country.
The gas aggregator will make the domestic retail gas prices less varied, acting Director General of Oil and Gas IGN Wiratmadja said, adding it may set different prices for different types of customers.
The gas aggregator was among the issues discussed during the Forum Group Discussion on Gas Infrastructure last week, the statement said.
