Govt plans to increase electricity tariff again

The proposal, made by the government during a meeting to revise the 2014 state budget with the House of Representatives on Tuesday, aims to increase the electricity tariff of industrial, business and high income household consumers whose tariff were not raised during the last tariff hike. The tariff will be increased every two-month starting July.
Under the plan, the tariff of non-go public companies, for instance, will be increased by an average of 11.57 percent, while the tariff of consumers with installed capacity of more than 200 kVA will be gradually increased by 5.7 percent.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Jero Wacik said that the tariff of low income household consumers will not be increased. (*)
