Govt plans to scrap crude tenders at SKK Migas

The government plans to terminate the role of upstream authority SKK Migas in holding tender for oil and condensate output belonging to the state, after the now defunct chairman of SKK Migas, Rudi Rubiandini, was caught red handed of receiving bribe money from one of tender participants, Investor Daily reported Thursday.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Jero Wacik said that SKK Migas has submitted the proposal to scrap the crude tenders. Jero said that under the plan, the state portion of the country?s oil and gas output would be handed over to state-owned oil and gas PT Pertamina. ?Rather than beset by problems (such as bribery), 100 percent will be handed over to Pertamina,? he said during a hearing with the House of Representatives Commission VII on energy.
SKK Migas Acting Chairman Johanes Widjonarko expects the upstream authority and Pertamina to be able to quickly sign the MoU on the new mechanism. (*)
