The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has submitted a proposal to increase the quota of subsidized fuel products this year by 1.2 million kilo liters as the current quota is expected to deplete by December 13 due to strong fuel consumption at home.
?The stock for automotive diesel will last until December 13, while for premium gasoline until December 25,? said Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Jero Wacik on the sidelines of a meeting with lawmakers on Monday.
He expects that a meeting with the House of Representatives to decide on the proposed extra quota of subsidized fuel can be quickly implemented to avoid motorists from panicking due to fuel shortage.
Jero said that the required additional budget for the proposed extra quota of 1.2 million kilo liters of subsidized fuel products is around Rp 5-6 trillion.
