Govt proposes Rp 42.6t power subsidy for next year

The government is proposing electricity subsidy of between Rp 32.73 trillion and Rp 42.64 trillion for next year.
A subsidy of Rp 42.64 trillion will provide state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) with a margin of 5 percent, according to a document presented by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to the House of Representatives.
PLN’s fuel consumption is estimated to rise to 9.55 million kiloliters next year, the document said.
The national power consumption is estimated to rise by 6.8 percent on the economic growth assumption of between 6.5 percent and 6.9 percent. (Godang)
