The government is stepping up efforts to accelerate development at the Tanjung Lesung Special Economic Zone after cumulative investment in the project reached Rp3.09 trillion as of end-2025, officials said.
Rizal Edwin Manansang, acting secretary general of the National Council for Special Economic Zones, visited the site in Banten on April 17 as part of efforts to ensure the project delivers stronger economic impact.
The government has been conducting regular monitoring and coordination meetings with regional authorities, developers and relevant ministries to accelerate progress and improve competitiveness, Rizal said in a statement.

Investment in the zone includes Rp539 billion from the management entity and Rp2.547 trillion from 30 business operators. The 1,500-hectare area has completed more than 96% of land acquisition, although only about 396 hectares have been utilised so far.
“The Tanjung Lesung SEZ has a strong foundation, but the focus now is on optimising land use to generate more tangible economic benefits,” Rizal said.
PT Banten West Java, the developer and management entity, said investment realisation this year has reached Rp31 billion and is expected to increase in the coming quarters.
“We will optimise the achievement of the remaining investment target this year and continue to push job creation,” its president director Poernomo Siswoprasetijo said.
The government has pledged continued support through fiscal and non-fiscal incentives to attract investors, while the Banten Provincial Government is backing infrastructure development to improve access to the zone.
Officials said improved coordination between central and regional authorities is expected to help position Tanjung Lesung as a leading tourism destination and a driver of economic growth in Banten province.
