Govt raises subsidized fuel prices by 30-36%

President Joko Widodo has raised the prices of subsidized Premium gasoline and diesel in order to cut the burdensome subsidy.
The price of Premium has been raised by 30.7 percent to Rp 8,500 from Rp 6,500 per liter, while the price of diesel or gas oil has been increased by 36.3 percent to Rp 7,500 per liter from Rp 5,500 per liter effective Tuesday midnight.
The decision was made during the Cabinet meeting on Monday.
