The government has issued a decree to again reshuffle state oil and gas company?s board of management, economic daily Neraca reported Thursday.

The paper quoted as source at the ministry of energy and mineral resources as saying that the presidential decree appointed current director of production sharing management Iin Arifin Takhyan as new upstream director to replace Gatot K. Wiroyudo, and Effendi Situmorang, the current director of development, as Iin?s successor.

Downstream director Ariffi Nawawi has been replaced by his deputy for marketing and commercial affairs Muchsin Bahar, the source, who claimed to have seen the copy of the decree, further said.

When contacted by Petromindo.Com, no senior Pertamina and ministry officials were willing to comment on the report.

According the report, Effendi will be replaced by someone from the Gajahmada University of Yogyakarta, a colleague of current finance director Ainun Naim.

Ainun, who is known as a close friend of speaker of People?s Consultative Assembly Amien Rais, a political nemesis of President Abdurrahman Wahid, retains its current position, under the presidential decree.

?As far as we know, the new lineup of management will be installed by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro this week , or Saturday at the latest, after returning from Brunei Darussalam,? the source said.

Purnomo is visiting the country after attending the OPEC meeting in Vienna.

The government last reshuffled the state company's management in January this year. (Godang)
