The government decided on Tuesday to revoke the value-added tax requirement for imported capital goods used in oil exploration activities, Antara reported Wednesday.
The decision was made during a meeting led by Vice President Jusuf Kalla.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro said that the tax exemption remained consistent with the production-sharing contracts on oil exploration.
"Therefore, according to the production-sharing contracts, the tax will be the responsibility of the government," he said.(*)
