Govt sees gas output to increase to 10 BCFD in 2005

The country’s natural gas output is projected to increase to 10 billion cubic feet per day (BCFD) next year, from the estimated 8.8 BCFD for this year, according to the latest data provided by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources as reported by Bisnis Indonesia daily on Tuesday.

Last year, gas output reached 7.3 BCFD, the paper added.

Gas reserves is projected to surge to 178.3 trillion cubic feet from 123.6 trillion cubic feet.

Meanwhile, total investment in the gas sector for this year is estimated to reach $3.9 billion, out of the total estimated investment of $7.5 billion in the overall oil and gas sector.(*)
