Govt sets up oil, gas exploration committee

The government has appointed Andang Bachtiar to lead the newly set up National Exploration Committee, which is tasked to help resolve the various problems hampering oil and gas exploration activities in Indonesia.

"The committee will push for massive oil and gas explorations because we realize that our reserves have kept on shrinking," said Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said on Wednesday.

He said that the target is to increase the reserves in five years time.(*)
