Govt signs 12 oil, gas contracts

Pase block contract extended

The government signed Friday 12 oil and gas production sharing contracts comprising of eight conventional oil and gas working areas and four non-conventional working areas.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said in a statement that the government also signed the contract extension of the Pase working area in Aceh.

The ministry said that the eight conventional working areas comprise of six working areas resulting from the phase 1 2014 direct offer including Kualakurun, Garung, Offshore Pulau Moa Selatan, Southeast Papua, Abar, and Anggursi; and from phase 1 2014 regular tender including North Madura II and Aru Trough I working areas.

Following is the list of the eight working areas.

The ministry said that total investment commitment for the eight oil and gas working areas in the first three years of exploration period is US$107.23 million, with the following breakdown.

? US$7,995,000 for G&G study (including reprocessing of 3D seismic data)
? US$13,230,000 for 3,450 KM 2D seismic survey, and
? US$86,000,000 for drilling of five exploration wells

The ministry added that signature bonus to be received by the government is US$9 million.

Meanwhile, the four non-conventional working areas (WK MNK) comprise of 1 WK MNK resulting from the 2013 direct offer (WK MNK Kisaran), and three WK MNK from director offer in 2014 (WK MNK Sakakemang, MNK Selat Panjang, and MNK Palmerah).

The ministry said that total investment commitment for the four working areas in the first three years of exploration period is US$48.59 million, with the following breakdown.

? US$1,665,000 for G&G study (including reprocessing of 2D seismic data),
? US$5,825,000 for 500 KM 2D seismic survey, and
? US$41,100,000 for the drilling four exploration wells.

The ministry added that signature bonus to be received by the government is $4 million.

It said that the total investment commitment for the 12 working areas is $155.82 million, while the total signature bonus to be obtained by the government is $13 million.

Elsewhere, the ministry said that the total investment commitment for the Pase working area in the first three years is $10.5 million, comprising of $1 million for G&G study, $8.5 million for 3D seismic acquisition and processing, and $1 million for drilling of one exploration well.

Meanwhile, the government is set to receive signature bonus of $1.5 million.
