Govt still reviewing feed-in-tariff for hydropower

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is still reviewing the existing policy on feed-in-tariff for hydropower as it is considered unattractive for investors, an official of state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has said.

M. Sofyan, Head of New and Renewable Energy Division at PLN, said the review process also involved officials from PLN and various takeholders of the power industry.

?The review is on the final stage. The new policy on the feed-in-tariff will be issued in the form of a ministerial decree,? he said.

The main goal of the review is how to attract investors. PLN will accept the new tariff as long as it is ?reasonable?, he said.
