Govt targets CBM production of 500MMCFD in 2015

Government is envisioning CBM production to reach 500MMCFD in 2015, ramping up to 1BCFD in 2020 and 1.5BCFD in 2025, an official said.
Upstream Director at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Eddy Hermantoro said recently that the production would mainly be coming from some of the 20 blocks in Sumatra and Kalimantan that have been awarded to contractors.
He said that Indonesia may achieve first commercial production of CBM in 2011 albeit at small volume.
Eddy said the government will likely award four more blocks in Kalimantan and Sumatra this year.
Indonesia is estimated to have 453 TCF of CBM potential from 11 basins. (alex)
