Govt to add new oil, gas blocks for tender

Government said on Friday it would add up to five new oil and gas blocks tender late next month, making the total number of the blocks offered at this round to 30.

 

Upstream director at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, R. Priyono told reporters on Friday that preparation for the tender is underway. He, however, declined to disclose the location of the new blocks.

 

Priyono also said that major oil firm such as BP, Chevron, ExxonMobil, Total and CNOOC are interested to bid in Semai blocks offshore Papua, which would be offered in this round. He added that Total is also interested in a block located offshore East Nusa Tenggara. (Bernard/Godang)
