Govt to announce winning bidders for nine oil blocks in Houston

The government will announce the winning bidders for nine oil blocks, recently opened for tender, in Houston, U.S., during a two-day energy conference, according to Minister of Energy and Mineral Resoures Purnomo Yusgiantoro.
President Megawati Soekarnoputri is expected to open the energy conference on September 23 during her visit to the U.S.
The government announced earlier this year that it planned to offer 23 oil blocks in a bid to boost domestic oil production. Nine of them had been offered to investors.
The government is also expected to offer another 14 blocks in Houston to U.S. investors as well as non-U.S. investors.(Godang)
