Govt to auction another 20 exploration blocks in Nov

Government will likely put another 20 exploration blocks for auction on 2010 second bidding round this November, a senior government official said on Thursday.|

Director General of Oil and Gas Evita Legowo said that 15 blocks would be put under regular tender and the balance will be under direct offer tender.

According to Evita, the blocks that would be put under regular tender are: 1) East Asahan, 2) North Kuantan, 3) Indragiri Hilir, 4) East Jabung, 5) SW Sumatra I , 6) SW Sumatra II, 7) SW Sumatra III, 8) North Merak, 9) West Kangean, 10) East Bangkanai, 11) West sebuku, 12) SE Mandar, 13) SW Bird?s Head, 140 Arguni I, 15) Arguni II.

The direct offer blocks are: 1)Gurita, 2) South Betung, 3) Sumbagsel Onshore 4) Damar Onshore and 5) Arafura Sea II.

According to Evita the names of the blocks might still be changed pending final decision. (Bernard)
