The government will offer two pipeline projects in Java measuring 680 kilometers, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro said on Tuesday.
The first pipeline project will stretch 390 kilometers from the Central Java capital of Semarang to Gresik, while the second project with a length of 290 kilometers will connect Semarang with Cirebon.
Both pipelines will have a combined capacity of between 350 and 500 million cubic feet of gas per day (MMCFD).
?The bidding process for the two projects will be carried out by BPH Migas,? Purnomo said, referring to the nation?s downstream oil and gas authority.
BPH Migas? head Tubagus Haryono did not specify the timeframe for the bidding process. He only said the contractors that would win the bidding would be given the ?special right? to operate the pipelines up to 25 years. (Alex)
