Govt to award CBM exploration block to Pertamina, Ephindo

Government is set to award three coal-bed methane (CBM) exploration blocks to local investors this month, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Wednesday, quoting Director General of Oil and Gas Evita Legowo.

According to the report, Pertamina and Energi Pasir Hitam (Ephindo) would be awarded Sangatta Block, while PT.Batu Mas and PT.Tansri Majid Energi would be awarded Barito I and Barito II blocks, respectively.

Separately, Evita also said that two more CBM exploration blocks called Ogan in South Sumatra and Kutai in East Kalimantan might also be awarded soon. (*)
