Govt to build 54 CNG and 108 LGV stations this year

The government plans to build 54 compressed natural gas (CNG) and 108 liquefied gas for vehicle (LVG) this year to support the government?s oil to gas conversion program.
The government will build 35 CNG filling stations including six mother and 29 daughter stations in Jakarta, while five CNG stations in West Java comprising 1 mother and four daughter stations, and 1 mother station in Banten.
The government will also build 13 CNG filling stations in East Java comprising of 1 mother, 11 daughter and 1 online stations.
The plan was unveiled by director general of oil and gas at the energy and mineral resources ministry Evita H. Legowo during a hearing at the House of Representatives (DPR) in Jakarta on Monday.
Meanwhile, of the planned LGV stations, 32 stations will be built in East Java, 25 stations in Central Java, 16 stations in West Java, 11 stations in Banten, 4 stations in Yogyakarta and 5 stations in Bali.
The government will ban private cars from using subsidized fuel beginning in April in order to reduce the ballooning subsidy. The private cars should then use non-subsidized fuel or convert usage to gas.
For, public transport cars, the government has promised to provide free converter kits. Owners of private cares should buy at price of about Rp 15 million each.
