Govt to build mini LNG plant in Cilamaya

The government plans to build a mini LNG plant in Cilamaya, West Java with land acquisition and FEED expected to start this year and construction next year, acting Director General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources IGN Wiratmadja said on Thursday.
The gas will be provided by Pertamina EP, Wiratmadja said without providing details.
He also said several private companies have submitted proposals to the government to build mini LNG plants in Riau, East Java, South Sulawesi and East Kalimantan.
In the next four years, Indonesia is projected to have five mini LNG plants each with the capacity of 5 to 10 mmscfd, he said, without specifying the companies that will build each of the plants.
Meanwhile, Danny Praditya, President Director of PT Gagas Energi Indonesia, confirmed that his company has once planned to build a mini LNG plant in Batam, Riau. However, there isn?t yet thus far certainty regarding gas supply to the LNG plant.
